Sermon Report

Yesterday's sermon was preached by Chris Engelsma. The text was Zechariah 1, and the title was Zechariah's night vision. Zecharaiah had a vision of men on red horses who went scouting over the earth and then returned to give the report that all was at rest to Jesus. This was not the report that Jesus wanted to hear, nor was it the one Zechariah wanted to hear. At this time, Israel was waiting for God to shake the nations. They had been conquered, and they had returned, but they had no wall around their city, no temple, and it seemed that God had permanently left them. Zechariah's vision showed that God had not left them, and in his own time would shake the nations.
