Sermon Report

 Yesterday's sermon was preached by Pastor Chris Engelsma at Covenant URC. The text was Genesis 3. This passage details the fall of man to Satan and the beginning of God's plan to save us from our own evil, the nature of which was the sermon's focus. One thing to note is that many people assume that the serpent spoken of in this passage was a literal snake that was possessed by Satan. Still, the Bible never says that, and it is likely that the "serpent" was Satan himself. Evil, or more accurately sin, has four parts to it, Temptation, Rationalizing, Action, and Pain, handily outlined as TRAP.
