"Ape-women"

Many people with mental and physical disorders were put in freak shows and used as evidence of humanity relapsing into the missing link. Some physical diseases can cause unnatural amounts of body hair and deformities that sometimes that make the victim have ape-like features. One of these women was named Julia. Sources say her body was covered in hair and that she had an ape-like face, as well as a deep voice due to a deformity that caused her body to produce too many male hormones. Obviously, this is horrible, but society and leading men, including Darwin who studied her personally and overly-exaggerated her ape-like features, displayed her as a freak. She becomes so famous that she put on her own act in the circuses. Sources tell us that she was a skilled dancer and singer. Julia, despite her horrible deformities and illnesses, was still human, and not a missing link.
