Sermon Report
Yesterday's sermon was preached by Pastor Engelsma (surprise). The text was the last bit of Galatians 3 and the first bit of Galatians 4. This is where Paul is talking about how slave children and heirs in the Roman Empire were difficult to tell apart. Both had a master, a teacher, or an overseer. They likely had the same skin color. The only difference was that the sons had something to look forward to, their inheritance. Slaves had nothing to look forward to, except more slavery. The law keeps us in like a slave, Christ's sacrifice allows us to break free from the law and be like a son, looking forward to Christ's coming and our inheritance.
