Sermon Report

I'm not sure who preached yesterday's sermon because we listened to it over some speakers at a church because they have no pastor. I know the title had something to do with firm ground. I can't remember the text either, but that's because he didn't have one, he used the Heidelberg Catechism Lords Day One, or more specifically the first question. This question tells us what our "only comfort in life and death" is. The pastor said that unbelievers have no comfort after death, but Christians have a hope beyond the grace. We can know what lies behind death, and we can know that after it we will be safe. The pastor noted that this knowledge (Assurance) is not necessary for salvation but is certainly helpful (After all how can we serve God's kingdom if we don't think we are a Christian?).
