Satan is a word that English sort of permanently borrowed/stole from Hebrew. In Hebrew, it means both to be aggressive against something and to be an aggressor against something. If we all knew about Satan came from Job then we would probably conclude that Satan not only has access to God's throne but is counted part of the heavenly council. Now, we know that Satan is attempting to corrupt, tempt, and destroy Christians.
