Ranger's Apprentice: The Emperor of Nohin-ja (Content & Quality) Review

 Overview
Horace has gone missing in Nihon-ja, and to make matters worse he's got himself tied up in a war between the noble Emperor Shigeru and the rebel Senshi Arisaka. Will, Horace, Evanlyn, Alyss, Halt, and even Selethen ban together to find Horace and help him in his quest in the epic conclusion to the Ranger's Apprentice.

Negative
The standard amount of violence we've come to expect from Ranger's Apprentice, though with a lot less blood this time around. A side character is killed.

Positive
I've said before that the amount of swearing was rapidly being lowered in the series, and I am happy to say it is now non-existent. Emperor Shigeru is fighting for the rights of the lower class of his people, while Arisaka is fighting to keep the lower classes beneath the Senshi (The highest class). We see many people, even bad guys, unite for this cause. The book also admits that men and women have different strengths and weaknesses, which in today's political world is a score.

Conclusion
The author still seems reluctant to make the character arcs the main part of his story, but he does do a better job of it here then he does in his past books, bringing the four main characters that we've come to know and love to a satisfying conclusion. The book is a very worthy ending to Ranger's Apprentice. It made me excited to read a spin-off, The Lost Stories, as well as the next two series set in the same world, Brotherband and The Royal Ranger. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, so I'll recommend it and leave it there.
