Yesterday's sermon was preached by Chris Engelsma on Ezekiel 43. God has caused Ezekiel to imagine a glorious temple, which is a picture of heaven. Throughout the Old Testament, God's glory has been manifested as a cloud. This can be seen when the Tabernacle is founded, and when Solomon founds his temple. This was not in the sermon, but it can also be seen when God is leading his people out of Egypt with a cloud and a pillar of fire. Ezekiel sees the cloud leave the temple, and then return to the temple, symbolizing that though God may leave his people for a time, he will always return.
