George Washington served in the French and Indian war by leading a regiment of 2500 troops into the wilderness to attack French forts. The French attacked him first and since the French had better tactics in English, instead of hop by the Indians, how to fight in Americas territory, the English troops were getting slaughtered. After the war is over, he married Martha Washington, who is a widow, and raised her two children. He ran for the house of burgess, which was Virginia’s version of a congress. He became very wealthy, and then, of course, was later appointed commander in chief of the continental army.
