Yesterday's sermon was preached by Pastor Christopher Engelsma at Covenant URC. The text was John 10:30. The sermon was also based on the Heidelberg Catechism's question and answer thirty-three, which talks about Jesus being the son of God in the Apostle's Creed. This line can be confusing as we are often called the sons of God along with Jesus. The difference is that Jesus is the "only-begotten" son of God. This reflects his status as both God and man. We are more like adopted sons of God, coming into his family through the Covenant of Grace.
