Sermon Report

Yesterday's sermon was preached by Pastor Casey Freswick. The text was Acts 17:16-32. This text relates the story of Paul's arrival at Athens and how he confronted the Grecian philosophers and thinkers at the Areopagus, which you can still visit today. Paul says that he saw an altar to an unknown God, and uses that to introduce the Greeks to the Gospel. Some of them are interested and ask him to speak more of it well others think that he is crazy and try to make him leave. At the Areopagus, there is also a huge temple to all of the gods, and Paul tells them that God is not someone who dwells in temples or needs human hands to worship him, but that he saves freely.
