The Europeans and the Japanese
After the Europeans unofficially took control over China and it's trade, they turned to the then legendary land of Japan. People said that it was full of gold of incredible thickness and quality, which obviously attracted a lot fo people. When they finally landed there, they found that there wasn't enough gold to arouse interest, but found lots of people. The Japanese were not used to foreigners, and were overawed by the things the Europeans showed them,. and proved remarkably open to converting to Chrstianity/. At least, they were until some of them realized that they was the Europeans took over nations was by having the nation convert to Christianity, and then landing troops. All of the "Christians" would assist them in taking over the land. This launched a widespread execution and expulsion of all foriegners.
