Argentina Versus America

Argentina and America are usually considered not at all similar, but during the days of America's "wild west," they actually had much in common. Both Argentina and America were big meat producers, raising cattle and then selling and exporting the beef. However, America was able to attract immigrants and workers much more easily and efficiently than Argentina, which struggled to raise its population. Argentina simply isn't as free as America. In Argentina, becoming a citizen meant mandatory military service, something that doesn't exist in America except in rare circumstances.
