Protestantism and Progress

 Many people have seen links between Protestantism and scientific progress. This makes sense, as the Roman Catholic hierarchy discouraged scientific discovery because often it contradicted the Bible or the teachings of Plato, which for some reason were held up as sacred by them. Nowadays, scientists have found the Bible actually correlates well with history and science, and the teachings of Plato have been proven to be outright wrong in some cases, as Galileo proved, and as rebuked by the Church for doing so. Protestantism restored true widespread Christianity and took down the Roman Catholic Church which allowed scientific progress to spread, often with protestant scientists.
