Haunt Fox is about a fox named Star whose brother is killed by a hungry Panther. Determined to take revenge, he starts basically training himself to become the best hunter in the forest. Meanwhile, Jack and his dog Thunder are training themselves to become the best fox hunter. Star soon becomes known as the Haunt Fox, a fox with almost supernatural power. I've heard some good things about these books, but honestly, I couldn't find much that I enjoyed here, so far. The writing is good, the strategy used by both hunter and fox seems accurate, but so far it seems like the author is making you like Jack and Thunder, and Star, but only one of them can survive. It doesn't make sense. Why make two, really three, awesome characters and the have one kill the other and end the book that way. It doesn't feel satisfying. This is only the middle, but I don't have much hope.
