Sermon Report: Special Edition
Why is this particular post a special edition you ask? It's just a normal report that I do every Monday, so why is this edition special? Because it is very likely the last sermon report I will ever do on Pastor Vandenberg's sermons. After six years of faithfully serving the Providence Reformed Church of Grand Rapids, God has called him to take up a new congregation in the Netherlands. Reinier (Hopefully I spelled that right.), told me has twenty aunts and uncles where they are going, so they will have lots of cousins to make friends with. At his last service, the parking lot was filled so full that we had to start parking the cars along the curb and put people in the balcony. Pretty sure that's the only time that ever happened. Moving on to the actual sermon, he preached on Isiah 55: 1-13, and specifically on verses six to seven. This is the well-known passage on coming to "buy" milk and honey with price or money (Hey, that rhymed!). He talked about where the Lord is to be found, returning to him, and how he will pardon all of our sins, down to the smallest. Anyway, it was a very fitting last sermon. Please pray for the Vandenbergs as they travel to the Netherlands and establish themselves in a new Neighborhood. Also, pray for Providence Reformed Church as they seek a new Pastor. Thank you.
