Yesterday's sermon was preached by Pastor Engelsma. The text was Zechariah 8. Here, God gives several things to the Israelites, who have just come back from exile in Babylon. First, he gives them promises. He promises that Israel will be prosperous again, children will play in the streets (Don't ask me how that's a sign of prosperity). He also gives them obligations. They have to get working, and they have to be a light to the nations around them (Though over time the Israelites would lose sight of what they were chosen for and be more obsessed that they were the chosen.).
