The second character I'm going to rewrite is Ayisha, the Muslim girl who was thrown out of her home for being a Christian. This character had the most potential of all the characters in the film in my opinion, yet what they did with her was pretty disappointing. Her character arc in the film is something like this.
- We learn that her father is a traditional Muslim and that he makes her wear a hijab, but he also loves his daughter very much. We also see that she takes it off when he's not around.
- We learn that she is a Christian but she has hidden it from her family.
- Her father finds out and throws her out of the house, even though it breaks his heart.
- Ayisha goes to her pastor who comforts her.
- Ayisha goes to the newsboy's concert and is happy 🤷.
This may have been the character that the writers did the worst job on. They didn't resolve the tension with her father, and the ending doesn't really end it. I'm going to add some steps to this one. First, we're going to put one in right between four and five (Actually a lot of stuff is going to go right here). After Ayisha goes to her pastor, we need to get her Dad back into the action. Let's say that Ayisha's pastor goes to her father, and asks him if he loves his daughter then why did he evict her? Ayisha's father would probably say he did it because God would want him to. The pastor could then counter and say that God wants us to love one another, not fight. Meanwhile, Ayisha is helping out at the church or something. Her father comes to ask her forgiveness, but she, angry at her father, doesn't. The pastor tells her that since Jesus forgave her, she should forgive her father. The pastor also talks to her father about Jesus, and he accepts him. Then, they both are able to forgive each other.
