Atomic Habits 10

 As humans, we gravitate towards easy things because our body knows that energy is a precious resource and doesn't want to waste it, so we do easy things. That's not to say we can't do hard things with enough motivation and effort, but we can use this behavior to make good habits and eliminate bad ones. How much TV would you watch if you moved the TV into the closet after every time you used it? Just the couple minutes of effort needed to take it out and plug it back in would be enough to make most of us not want to watch it as much. Want to send more cards? Keep a stack of sorted cards on your desk. If you want to make a habit, make it easy to do. If you want to lose a habit, make it hard to do.
