If your neck vertebrae are damaged, this procedure will most likely be applied to fix it. First, an incision will be made over your vertebrae and some bone will be removed to allow access to the vertebrae. The outer layer of the vertebrae will be removed. Metal plate or rods will be screwed into place over them, and then the incision will be closed. You will wear a neck brace for a couple weeks.
