When we are looking at the Bible to find answers to modern-day issues such as homosexuality and abortion we need to be careful to differentiate between inferences and statements. Inferences are something the text does not say but seems to imply. A statement is something that the text says directly. If we aren't careful with this we can start to make the Bible our words and not God's word. In this case, homosexuality is an abomination as expressed multiple times in Leviticus and Romans 18 and abortion being an abomination is implied.
