OT Report
This section on wisdom literature covered a lot of books, so I'll just focus on Proverbs. Proverbs has many different sayings in it. Some seem to contradict themselves, but that doesn't mean we should throw away the book. English proverbs often contradict themselves as well. Think about "One who hesitates is lost" and "Look before you leap." They contradict themselves, yet they both are applicable in certain situations. The Proverbs also says some derogatory things about women. Does that mean that Proverbs is chauvinistic? Not at all. If we look through the book we find that Proverbs rebukes the negative aspects of both sexes, and actually does this too men more then woman. It also puts mothers and fathers on an equal level. Anyway, that's all for today.
