Old Testament Overview

The storyline of the Old Testament is all of the history contained in it. The stories of David, Esther, Moses, Abraham, etc. are all historical records. The plotline is the way they are ordered and presented to make a point. For example, first and second Kings and first and second Chronicles both relate the same history. However, first and second kings focuses on how disobedience to God causes ruin, and obedience causes success. The book of first and second Chronicles focus on hope.
