Coolidge and the Police

Future President Coolidge and the police did not have a very good relationship, but not in the way you might expect. The police all went on strike in a hueg protest against what they deemed unfair wages. This was probably true, but Coolidge viewed them as traitors and used the military to protect the peace, even declaring martial law at one point. He didn't allow the officers back into the force, and instead had to rebuild the police force. his policies were viewed as favorable by the public despite causing a huge crime wave when the criminals realized the police weren't coming back right away.
