Coolidge's Political Start

 Coolidge became the mayor of his city after he married a girl named Grace whom he met in one of the social clubs at his college. He seemed to do a good job and even got nominated to be the state's senator. He learned a lot while in office, and his pro-tariff leanings only became stronger. He believed tariffs protected American jobs and industries from being replaced by foreigners and foreign industries. He also learned that blocking bad bills was much more important than passing good ones
