Widows, orphans, aliens, and slaves in Israelite times typically had it much worse than they do in our own times. We don't really have slaves but widows, orphans, and aliens (Or people who are not citizens of your country but live in it) are provided for throughout OT laws. We can see through this God's love, and motivates us to protect those who society is trampling for no reason.
