How I Build Stories (Whether their good or not I don't know :/)

Tip #1
Have an idea? Jot it down quick! You might forget it later, and even if it's not a very good one you can always add more of your other ideas to it.

Tip #2
If you are making a fantasy story, like The Lord of the Rings, it's often best to start with creating the world. Add everything you think you'll need for your story, and then expand on it as needed. Even add stuff you don't need. Having your characters reference these places indirectly can make the world seem very large, this is part of the reason The Lord of the Rings is so popular. It always seems like there's so much more to read about!

Tip #3
After you finish your story come back to it after a month and revise it. Fix any goofs that you find and try to make it fit together and flow more!

Tip #4
If your story seems to have stages or sections, it's often best to split it into multiple stories. Otherwise, it can feel kind of choppy.

Tip #5
Basically the same as #2 except it's about stories. Reference other stories, even if they aren't complete, in other stories. This, again, will make the world seem much more fleshed out and thought through.
