Light From Old Times

Two of the most influential English reformists, Latimer and Ridley, were finally burned together by the Bloody Queen Mary. Each of the reformers had a bag o gunpowder hung over them. Latimer's ignited first and having detonated killed the old reformer quickly. Ridley's however had been rigged sot that fire merely burned his legs and would not ignite the gunpowder. He suffered for hours until finally the gunpowder ignited, ending his life.
