Light From Old Times

An Englishman named John Hooper became a monk. In fact, he was a monk in two separate monasteries (Not at the same time obviously.). However, after some time he became disgusted with being a monk and went to Oxford to live there. Then he went to the mainland of Europe, where he married and was taught by a group of people who followed the teachings of Zurich. There he also became a Christian, and after some time returned to England to aid the reformers in his own country. There he became famous for his preaching, so much so that the King made him a bishop. however, he refused to become one because of the Roman Catholic idolatry still related to the position. It became such a problem that he was put in Prison, but finally, both sides relented and compromised and he became a bishop. That was all I was told in this section, so I will see you next time.
