Interpretation of the Bible

The Bible is to be interpreted literally. By that, I do not mean that it is to be interpreted exactly as the text is written. For example, we don't interpret the whole eye for an eye tooth for a tooth thing literally. What I mean is that we are to translate poetry is to be translated as poetry, Historical accounts are to be translated as history, and so on. We are also to translate obscure parts of the Bible with clearer parts of the Bible.
