So the Puritans left England because England would not tolerate them. So they went to America and there were very intolerant to, well, pretty much everybody. They called the Indians devils, so no wonder the Indians weren't all that keen on having the pale faces expand their territory. I wonder if the puritans had been tolerant of them if American history would have been changed? Anyway, the Puritans made all sorts of ridiculous laws, like a mother wasn't allowed to kiss her baby on the Sabbath, and generally made everybody obey their rules. In England, a guy named Laud started making a bunch of very intolerant laws about all sorts of stuff, but generally making sure everybody was either Romanist or dead. So, problems. But then Cromwell comes riding in on his horse, kills the king, abolishes the Parliament, and then makes everything worse by basically proclaiming himself king. So not good.
