Light from Old Times

The Roman Catholic Church burned many protestants. Some of the most interesting and touching stories of these can be found when the English decided that a girl named Mary should be queen. Bad idea. As soon as she was queen, she began to reinstate Roman Catholic bishops and burn the protestant leaders. One of these was a man named Cranmer. Cranmer had done much for the protestants, but when he was condemned, he recanted his beliefs. However, the Romanists determined to burn him anyway. In grief, he sought repentance and found it, and he was burned. Then he went to sit with the one he had served on Earth, to serve him in heaven forever.
