The book starts at the very beginning. No, really, the beginning. Starting with the Jews and their kings, moving on to Jesus and his ministry, and finishing as the Church starts to grow, headed by a Council made of the Apostles. The first chapter climaxes with how the church begins to flex it's muscles, so to speak, by appointing deacons, enacting discipline, and accepting thousands of new converts. It seems like the book would have been better by starting where the Bible leaves off, because most people interested in this would have read that already.
